Emma Merrell- B.A., CDA Reg. CDAAC
Communicative Disorders Assistant
Emma obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from York University and continued her education at Durham College to complete the Communicative Disorders Assistant Graduate Program. She has since been registered with the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association of Canada (CDAAC).
Emma started her career in the behaviour therapy space before making the jump to becoming a CDA. She enjoyed the experience supporting autistic children in a school setting and wanted to take the next step to continue to support children within the speech and language scope. The professional and personal experience Emma has working with autistic people has given her the tools to continue to support children and teens with complex communication needs in a therapy setting. Emma enjoys supporting her clients with literacy, self-advocacy, language development, and articulation. It is always a top priority for Emma to support her clients in neurodivergent affirming therapy practices.
Emma is excited to be part of the team at ASC and is looking forward to supporting her clients with their goals.
