Julia Cacoilo – OT Reg.(Ont.), MScOT
Occupational Therapist
Julia is passionate about the power of play as a therapeutic medium, incorporating creative and evidence-based strategies to make therapy sessions engaging and effective. She strives to create a supportive and positive therapeutic environment by ensuring her approach is client-centered, as she understands that each child has unique strengths, goals, and needs. She also believes that collaboration with families and caregivers is integral to a child’s progress. She aims to empower caregivers with the tools and knowledge needed to continue therapeutic activities in out-of-clinic settings to promote as much transferability of in-clinic interventions as possible.
Julia brings a unique background in pediatrics with her to the Aurora Speech Clinic team. Prior to her career as an OT, she worked as a circus camp counselor and specialist for four years, facilitating inclusive opportunities for children to develop social, fine motor, gross motor, and problem-solving skills. As an OT,
Julia graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours), Subject of Specialization in Kinesiology from Queen’s University. She then obtained her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto. Julia is registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and is a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists.
